4 Tips for Your Home Window Replacement Needs

home window replacementHere is a window check up list we have received from Simonton Windows. Just like changing your air filter or checking the batteries in your smoke detector, home window replacement maintenance is important to keep up with every year.

Home Window Replacement Never Got Any Easier

1. Inspect Weatherstripping – Look in between the sash and the frame to see if there are any damages.

2. Check to see if your windows are locked

3. Go outside and check to see if your windows are sealed properly.

4. Checking window screens is important. As for screens, without regular maintenance, they become dirty, damaged and will eventually need to be replaced. It’s always less expensive to clean your screens than it is to replace them, so save yourself some money and take the time to take care of those screens.

Caring for Vinyl Windows

Vinyl  windows require significantly less maintenance than wood windows, but they are not maintenance free. They must be lubricated as we indicated above, but they should also be cleaned regularly. Use a non-abrasive cleanser, mild soap and warm water will do the trick when washing.
