Did you ever wonder why condensation forms on your windows?

A little fog on the corners of your glass shouldn’t bother you.  Fog or frost that covers whole windows is a problem. This type of condensation appears when the dew point in the air is higher than the temperature of the glass. This occurs when a cool night follows a warmer day, Exterior condensation occurs when moist air comes into contact with cool surfaces, such as glass.  It happens most typically during the spring and fall seasons.

Under certain conditions, condensation can occur both inside and outside your home but windows do not cause condensation. The source of condensation, or “sweating” on windows and mirrors inside a home is caused by humidity, or invisible water vapor, present in virtually all air.
